Seniors Face Further Delay In Receiving COVID Relief

UPDATE: The federal government has said COVID-19 assistance for seniors will be delayed and instead be delivered the week of July 6.
This is an unfortunate and unnecessary delay that will impact seniors facing higher prices and daily challenges.
Those who qualify for the Old Age Security benefit are eligible for a tax-free payment of $300 and those who receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement will get an additional $200.
The payment will happen automatically.
