Campobello Needs A More Accessible Ferry, Now More Than Ever

I’ll keep fighting for our island communities and all communities in southwest New Brunswick. It’s good to see Campobello is again receiving the national press attention it deserves.
Since the Oct. 21 federal election, I’ve worked with provincial representatives and Campobello’s mayor and raised the island’s difficulties in Parliament.
In the House of Commons, I stated my strong opposition to U.S. custom agents opening mail destined for the island and later the promotion of ferry service, which finally received a positive reply from the federal government. And before the Canada-U.S. border was restricted, I worked with the Higgs & Trudeau governments to include Campobello residents as essential so families could travel from the island through Maine to St. Stephen, N.B.
We have more work to do but we’re on the right track for our communities.
